Bringing over balances from your old system

Most associations switch systems while some homes still owe money. On the Dues page, open "Bring over existing balances", enter the amount for each home that owes something, and leave the rest blank.

What happens

Each amount becomes an open balance for that home, collectible with the same secure pay link as regular dues. Tick the box to email those homes their link right away, or leave it unticked and send later from the Older open balances card.

They stay visible

The rest of the Dues page shows the current period only, so carried-over balances live in their own "Older open balances" card until they are paid. They also appear on each home's statement, labeled Opening balance.

Two protections

Entering balances twice is safe: a home that already has one is skipped, never doubled. And the late-fee button only ever applies to the current period, so nobody is fined for the years before you arrived.
